Community Work and Service

Boal has more than 15 years of experience working in software development and health care data management and analytics. His technical expertise includes data acquisition, modeling, integration and analysis using a variety of programming languages including C/C++, Python, Java, PERL, R, JavaScript and Bash.

His data management expertise includes work with numerous relational database management systems (Oracle, DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift and Teradata) and non-relational systems (MongoDB, HBase, SOLR, Cache and Neo4J). Boal speaks and teaches for The Data Warehouse Institute and has presented at numerous industry conferences including TDWI, StampedeCon and Hadoop Summit.

Boal is currently the enterprise information management practice lead for Amitech Solutions and is responsible for delivering big data solutions for clients in the health care industry. Boal has previously designed and built data warehousing and analytics solutions for Express Scripts and United Compounding Management, and he has lead teams of technologists and analysts to deliver data management and analytics solutions for Mercy Health in St. Louis.
